Payroll Specialist

Do you have a strong attention to detail and at least five years of payroll processing experience? We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist with hands-on Paychex experience and a strong background processing multi-state payroll. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in accuracy, stays organized under tight deadlines, and understands the complexities of payroll across multiple states. The right candidate will be comfortable managing payroll from start to finish while ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
Job Responsibilities
Process accurate and timely multi-state payroll for employees across multiple locations.
Utilize Paychex to enter, review, process, and audit payroll information.
Review timesheets, earnings, deductions, bonuses, commissions, and other payroll adjustments.
Perform detailed payroll audits to identify and resolve discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
Maintain accurate employee payroll records, tax information, direct deposits, and deductions.
Handle payroll-related questions from employees and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
Support payroll tax compliance, garnishments, benefits deductions, and year-end payroll activities.
Assist with payroll reconciliations and reporting while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
Qualifications
5+ years of payroll processing experience preferred.
Hands-on Paychex experience strongly preferred.
Experience processing multi-state payroll required.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct payroll discrepancies.
Knowledge of payroll taxes, wage and hour requirements, deductions, and garnishments.
Strong Excel skills and ability to work with payroll reports and reconciliations.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet strict payroll deadlines.
Strong communication skills and a commitment to providing excellent employee support.
