Full Benefits Summary (PDF)The Outreach Coordinator position's primary purpose is to increase early childhood educators' understanding about what the PDO is and how their career pathways in ECE can expand and advance with PDO-sponsored tuition and other supports. The overarching PDO goal is to increase the credentials and professional regard of all Pennsylvania EC educators as we build a pipeline of qualified people in this workforce-critical sector.Summary of DutiesManage participant eligibility, enrollment, and ongoing compliance by collecting and verifying required employment, wage, residency, academic, and program documentation.Confirm and accurately record participant eligibility through the PD Registry and related online systems.Ensure all required enrollment documents, including Commitment Forms and FERPA releases, are complete and properly submitted.Support the planning and coordination of professional development events, including scheduling, registration, participant communication, meeting locations, trainer logistics, travel arrangements, and materials.Guide Professional Development Organization and grant-funded students through the full Child Development Associate credentialing process.Provide individualized advising, coaching, and mentoring related to CDA requirements, competency standards, portfolios, documentation, assessments, and professional writing.Review candidate portfolios and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with CDA Council guidelines.Monitor student progress, maintain detailed records, and support timely completion of all credentialing requirements.Facilitate workshops and one-on-one support sessions to strengthen reflective practice, accountability, confidence, and professional growth.Prepare candidates for CDA verification visits and competency-based assessments.Collaborate with instructors, administrators, and field supervisors to support candidate success.Remain current on CDA Council policies, credentialing requirements, and early childhood education best practices.Provide professional development coordination and CDA guidance to School to Work Round 6 Grant and OCDEL PDO students.Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, Education, or related field required.Preferred Qualifications - Relevant experience in early childhood professional development, student advising, program coordinator, Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred.Additional Information - Shippensburg University employees value teamwork and collaboration, are dependable, take initiative, solve problems effectively, communicate clearly and support organizational change.
