Nurse Practitioner Job Type: Part Time 30 hours a week Location: Bureau of Prisons, San Diego, California Schedule Range: Monday-Friday (7:30AM - 2PM) Summary: We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join our team who will provide holistic and quality care to our patients. A Nurse Practitioner's responsibilities include helping with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments, and consultations. They know there is no single solution when it comes to patient care. Responsibilities: Included but not limited to Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services for the inmate population Conduct medical histories, examine inmates, and order and interpret laboratory tests, x-ray, and other diagnostic testing Diagnosis and treat patients in an efficient, timely, and professional manner, provide treatment plans, and prescribe medication utilizing the Bureau of Prisons formulary Clinically manage injuries by suturing, splinting, and immobilizing Attend to medical emergencies Record progress notes, recommend clinically necessary outside consultation, instruct and counsel, and order or carry out therapy. Perform emergency consultation in instances where deemed necessary. Work collaboratively with the staff physicians and consulting physicians in planning, instituting, evaluating, and revising program plans Assists in determining conditions, resources, and policies essential to the delivery of health care services Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical, emotional, or mental problems Manages the daily operation of the clinic and conducts daily sick calls, which may include securing health histories from the patient, recording findings, and providing clinical evaluations Provides a wide range of emergency services in the absence of the physician Constantly be aware of security and maintain a professional relationship with inmates at all times Requirements and Experience: Included but not limited to Master's degree in Nursing Valid California license BLS (AHA) Proof of malpractice insurance Must have 1 year of family medicine experience or 1 year of urgent care experience SRL Total Source, LLC is proud to be an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
