Machine Maintenance Technician

Location : Portland, MI Shift : 3rd Shift Pay : $31–35 per hour

Job Summary
Are you a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking for a new opportunity? We're seeking a Machine Maintenance Technician to join our team in Portland, MI. In this role, you'll be a vital part of our operations, helping us to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment to ensure safe and efficient production while minimizing equipment downtime.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Machine Maintenance Technician, your core responsibilities will include:

• Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on production equipment to maximize performance and reliability.
• Equipment Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment failures, responding quickly to minimize production downtime.
• Equipment Installation & Maintenance: Install, adjust, maintain, inspect, and repair manufacturing machinery while accurately documenting maintenance activities.

In addition, you will also be expected to troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, read and interpret blueprints and schematics, maintain maintenance supply inventory, follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout, assist with continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work overtime and weekends as needed.

Skills:

• Mechanical & Electrical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to effectively maintain and repair equipment.
• Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to diagnose industrial automation equipment, read electrical and mechanical schematics, and troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment.
• Problem Solving & Teamwork: Ability to work independently and collaboratively while demonstrating strong communication and problem-solving skills.
