BC/DR Engineer (Veeam/Azure GCC)

Salary: $187,200 - 208,000 per year Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Person located in the United States for the full engagement and willing to be included in the delivery attestation.
• At least 7 years of infrastructure, backup and recovery, or cloud engineering experience, including 3 or more years designing and implementing Veeam solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Veeam Backup & Replication v12, including backup copy jobs, Scale-Out Backup Repositories with object storage capacity tier, and configuration backup and restore migrations.
• Hands-on experience deploying Veeam Recovery Orchestrator, including recovery plans, network mapping, boot order, and scheduled testing.
• Azure IaaS experience with Blob Storage, VNets, NSGs, Azure DNS, RBAC, and Managed Identities or Service Principals.
• Experience with Azure Government or GCC environments, or equivalent regulated cloud tenants.
• Experience seeding large datasets over WAN/VPN, including measuring throughput and tuning jobs.
• Windows Server 2022 administration experience and working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server as an application back end.
• Ability to write build specifications and acceptance criteria for another team to follow and to objectively validate completed work.
• Strong technical writing skills for runbooks, test plans, and configuration guides.
• Clear, professional communication with client engineers and third parties through a single coordination channel.
• Required experience: at least 1 year in disaster recovery and 2 years with Azure.
• Preferred: Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE); Veeam Certified Architect (VMCA) is a plus.
• Preferred: Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305).
• Preferred: experience supporting government contractors and familiarity with CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, or DFARS 7012 environments; assessment work is outside the scope of this engagement.
• Preferred: fixed-scope professional services delivery experience involving hour-bucket tracking and change-request discipline.
• Preferred: Azure Data Box seeding experience, site-to-site VPN and ExpressRoute troubleshooting, and experience producing audit or compliance evidence of administrative activity.

• Design the solution for moving the clients disaster recovery environment from a colocated datacenter to its Azure GCC Standard tenant.
• Write build specifications for the client and its designated provider, then validate their delivered work against those specifications.
• Configure Veeam backup copies for 80 production virtual machines to Azure Blob Storage.
• Seed an approximately 35 TB full backup set over VPN.
• Deploy Veeam Recovery Orchestrator to automate monthly test restores of five critical virtual machines.
• Coordinate delivery among the client, the designated provider, and our engineering resource; enforce written specifications and formal acceptance criteria while managing the fixed hour budget.

We are seeking a remote Azure DR Engineer for a 12-week temporary, part-time engagement of 20–30 hours per week, paying $90–$100 per hour. The work is fully remote but must be performed from within the United States. This is a three-party, fixed-scope delivery with a prepaid hour allocation. The target completion date is November 20, 2026, ahead of the clients December 31, 2026 deadline. Our engagement focuses on safeguarding the clients digital assets through disaster recovery, business continuity, and storage solutions, with careful coordination and attention to detail.
