Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care to critically ill patients in the Surgical Trauma ICU. Manages complex medical conditions, ensuring high-quality, compassionate care within a fast-paced, technologically advanced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver advanced critical care procedures including intubation, chest tube placement, central line insertions, and arterial lines.
• Monitor patient status continuously using GE bedside monitors, ventilators, and other ICU equipment; respond promptly to changes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, including infection control, medication administration, and device management.
• Document all patient interactions and interventions accurately in the Cerner Power Chart system.
• Educate patients and family members about treatment plans, procedures, and post-discharge care.

Qualifications:

• Valid nursing license with current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in ICU, particularly in Level I or Level II Trauma Centers.
• Proven expertise in performing invasive procedures such as intubation, chest tube insertion, and central line placement.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with flexibility and positive attitude.
• Experience working with advanced ICU equipment including GE ventilators, CRRT, and specialized monitors.
• Knowledge of Cerner Power Chart or similar documentation systems.
