Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care in the Labor and Delivery unit, supporting patients through childbirth and postpartum. Ensure safety, comfort, and positive outcomes for mothers and infants using evidence-based practices and compassionate care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess maternal and fetal conditions to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Monitor labor progress and perform obstetric assessments using appropriate clinical tools.
• Administer medications and interventions following facility protocols and patient needs.
• Educate patients and families on childbirth processes, postpartum care, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and safety.
• Document all clinical interventions accurately in Epic system and maintain detailed medical records.

Qualifications:

• Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse at the time of submission.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Labor and Delivery or obstetric nursing.
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, and NRP required; advanced AWHONN certifications preferred.
• Ability to perform obstetric assessments, fetal monitoring, and emergency interventions.
• Demonstrated strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must comply with state or compact licensing regulations and travel policies.
