What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience” * Convergint's greatest strength is our people! Every colleague is encouraged to participate in our Recruit Awesome People program, helping us grow Convergint by promoting our colleague-first culture and referring top talent to the Talent Acquisition Team and hiring managers. * Under minimal supervision, has overall responsibility for the application engineering, programming, troubleshooting, start-up, and check-out of assigned installed projects which are primarily larger and more complex. * Individuals work shall be in accordance with the established quality standards. * He/she is the technical support contact for our customer and is responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction with installed Fire, Security, and/or Building Automation Systems. * Ensures projects are effectively executed to budgeted cost and time schedules. * Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required. What You’ll Need * Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted. * Solid knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems. * Advanced programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions. * Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper). * Highly proficient computer skills including MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel), AutoCAD and/or viewing software; solid networking & IT skills (Security & Building Automation primarily). Requirements: Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience Minimum Experience: 5-7 years previous, relevant low-voltage systems project Preferred Experience: (but not required): * Experience in 1 or more of the following industries: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation The expected compensation range for this position is between $42 to $54 an hour, depending on experience.
