Connect Staffing is hiring a Maintenance Technician I for a manufacturing plant in Houston, TX. This is a temp-to-hire position paying $18–$25/hr depending on experience. In this role, you will troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on CNC mills, lathes, injection molding machines, steam boilers, autoclaves, and forklifts across a busy production facility. This position follows a structured preventive maintenance program, so you'll have clear priorities and scheduled work alongside breakdown response.

Pay: $18–$25/hr

Schedule: Monday to Friday 5:00 PM to 5:30 AM

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on CNC mills, CNC lathes, manual mills, manual lathes, injection molding machines, steam boilers, autoclaves, spray systems, sandblasters, and forklifts up to 12,000 lb capacity.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on production equipment per the facility's PM program.
• Read and interpret basic mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and hydraulic schematics to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
• Operate power tools and pipe threading machines safely and correctly.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, records, and PM documentation.
• Monitor and assist in managing spare parts inventory for production equipment.

Minimum Requirements

• 1+ year of experience repairing CNC and/or manual mills and lathes, or related production equipment.
• A First Grade Stationary Engineer License for the City of Houston is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with injection molding machines, steam boilers, or autoclaves.
• Hands-on experience with sandblasters or spray systems.
• Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Background in a high-mix manufacturing or job shop environment.
• Experience maintaining or inspecting forklifts as part of a maintenance role.
• Ability to supply personal hand tools required for the job.

Pre-Employment Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods, climb, balance, and work in confined spaces or at heights above 6 feet.
