Music Teacher K-8 ESC of Eastern Ohio Youngstown Community School – Youngstown, Ohio Job Description Position for a K-8 Music Teacher located within the Youngstown Community School. Responsibilities Support the school's mission, philosophies, values, goals, and policies toward students, parents/guardians, and coworkers. Passionate about urban education and our mission. Design and effectively deliver developmentally appropriate curriculum and instruction that reflects observations and goals of individual children. Establish a classroom culture of high expectations. Keep the classroom environment organized, attractive, and safe. Interact frequently and respectfully with staff, students, and community. Maintain a professional attitude. Be receptive to feedback and desire to grow professionally; attend staff meetings and professional development series throughout the school year. Be highly organized. Implement Positive Behavior Interventions and Support. Use effective classroom management strategies in a general educational setting. Qualifications Bachelor's degree and a valid Ohio teaching certificate/license (or in the process of obtaining one) in the subject area to be taught. Passionate about urban education and our mission. Highly organized, professional, and receptive to feedback. Experience implementing Positive Behavior Interventions and Support. Strong classroom management skills in a general educational setting.
