Advanced Heart Failure Cardiology Locums Opportunity - Fort Myers, Florida Quick Facts for Candidate ScreeningAvailability Needed
- Assignment Dates: August 5, 2026 - December 31, 2026
- Weekend coverage required
- Friday 5:00 PM - Monday 8:00 AM
- Saturday & Sunday rounding included
- Overnight call included
- Approximately 8 hours onsite rounding daily
- Remaining hours considered call coverage
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiology (ABIM)
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Advanced Heart Failure Fellowship required
- More than 5 years post-fellowship experience preferred
- NPDB report must be less than 3 months old
- No exceptions
- Advanced Heart Failure management
- Mechanical circulatory support
- Heart transplantation patient management
- Impella management
- ECMO management
- Cardiogenic shock patients
- Advanced heart failure patients
- No implant LVAD program currently
- No heart transplants performed onsite
- Close collaboration with regional transplant centers
- Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology
- Advanced heart failure
- Cardiogenic shock
- Mechanical circulatory support patients
- Inpatient and outpatient responsibilities
- Physician sees patients independently
- APP support available most days
- Occasional independent rounding when APP unavailable (PTO/CME coverage)
- Advanced Heart Failure physicians
- Advanced Practice Providers
- Cardiovascular surgical team collaboration
- Comprehensive advanced heart failure program
- High-volume, growing practice
- Strong multidisciplinary care model
- Excellent clinical outcomes
- Strong interpersonal skills required
- Must work effectively within a large multidisciplinary team
- Telehealth experience not required
- BC/BE Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiologist
- Fellowship-trained in Advanced Heart Failure
- Experienced with Impella and ECMO management
- Comfortable caring for advanced heart failure and cardiogenic shock patients
- Available for weekend rounding and overnight call coverage
- Strong team-oriented communicator with interest in a growing advanced heart failure program
