Loss Prevention Specialist (Fri-Tues 12pm-830pm)

Overview Part of maintaining a safe and healthy workplace by following and enforcing company policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include documenting incidents, serving as first point of contact for visitors, verifying identity and credentials, and participating in accident prevention activities. Responsibilities Monitor and patrol assigned areas (sales floor, stockrooms, warehouses, parking lots, entry/exit points) to detect and deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access. Conduct surveillance using CCTV systems, alarm monitoring equipment, and visual observation to identify suspicious behavior and potential threats. Respond to security incidents, alarms, and emergency situations (theft, disturbances, medical emergencies, safety hazards) in accordance with company protocols. Perform checks, receipt verifications, and exit inspections to prevent merchandise theft and ensure compliance with loss‑prevention policies. Document all incidents, observations, and security activities through detailed written reports, logs, and incident documentation systems. Collaborate with law enforcement, emergency services, and management when incidents require external intervention or escalation. Conduct internal investigations regarding suspected theft, fraud, or policy violations by employees, vendors, or customers. Inspect and test security equipment (cameras, alarms, locks, access control systems) to ensure proper functionality. Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a visible security presence that promotes a safe shopping and working environment. Qualifications Associate degree in criminal justice, business, or related field, or equivalent work experience (preferred). 1–2 years of safety, security, and loss prevention experience required. First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 6 months. Valid driver’s license (preferred). Work Environment This position is located in an active industrial distribution center with moderate to high noise levels, temperature variations, and material handling equipment. The role may require extended periods of standing or walking on concrete floors and the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and steel‑toed boots. The fast‑paced environment involves time‑sensitive and safety‑sensitive operations and may include various shift schedules. Pay Hourly $17.00‑$21.00.
