Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced GCP / Testing / Release Management Lead to lead engineering governance for a regulated, enterprise-scale Google Cloud Platform (GCP) rollout. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in GCP, testing/quality governance, release management, deployment processes, and enterprise change management .

This role will own the release management operating model, testing and quality gates, release readiness, and evidence discipline to ensure platform and onboarding changes are deployed safely, predictably, and in an audit-ready manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end release governance for GCP platform and onboarding changes, including release calendars, change approvals, go/no-go decisions, rollback criteria, and post-release hypercare.
• Define and enforce quality gates for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and platform changes, including test strategies, regression coverage, environment promotion rules, and peer-review standards.
• Lead release readiness and post-release validation , including cutover checklists, smoke testing, monitoring verification, and incident triage during release windows.
• Establish standards for release documentation and evidence capture , including change records, test results, approvals, and deployment traceability.
• Ensure release processes and documentation align with enterprise governance, regulatory, audit, and control requirements .
• Coordinate dependencies across IAM, networking, security/compliance, platform engineering, and application teams .
• Drive timely decision-making, issue resolution, escalation, and cross-functional communication during critical release activities.
• Identify recurring release defects and process gaps and lead root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement .
• Identify opportunities to automate testing, validation, quality checks, and release governance activities .
• Define and manage operational handoffs, including runbooks, support models, SLAs, knowledge bases, and production-readiness requirements .
• Partner with engineering and operations teams to ensure all platform and application changes are fully production-ready before deployment.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in testing, release management, engineering governance, or related technical leadership roles.
• Strong hands-on/functional experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) .
• Strong experience in Release Management and Testing/Quality Management .
• Experience managing releases for enterprise-scale cloud platforms .
• Strong understanding of IaC, deployment pipelines, environment promotion, testing, regression testing, and production validation .
• Experience establishing and enforcing quality gates and release governance processes .
• Experience with change management, release documentation, approvals, and audit/evidence requirements .
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, IAM, networking, security, and compliance dependencies .
• Experience coordinating across multiple engineering and application teams.
• Strong incident management, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in regulated enterprise environments .
• Experience with GCP platform onboarding and cloud migration/rollout programs .
• Experience with CI/CD and automated testing/validation .
• Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools .
• Familiarity with cloud security, compliance, and operational controls.
• Experience developing runbooks, operational procedures, and production-readiness checklists .
