Shipping and Receiving Clerk

We are currently looking for a full-time Shipping and Receiving Clerk to support at our Huntley plant. As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk you will be responsible for performing duties to efficiently receive, store, and distribute materials. This includes processing incoming shipments and preparing customer orders for timely shipment.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 12pm – 8pm. Wage: starting at $22-$23 per hour. The listed schedule will also include a $0.75 shift differential.

Essential Duties and Tasks:

• Unload trucks and receive incoming material, check vendor packing list with items received and verify accuracy of items with purchase orders.
• Complete all required paperwork including noting discrepancies and damages on packing list.
• Place stock and non-stock items in appropriate locations.
• Prepare all orders for shipment including pulling the correct items, wrapping finished goods pallets with the automatic stretch wrapper, attach labels, prepare bills of lading, contact carrier for pick-up and load trucks.
• Prepare UPS shipments on manifest system, package items, apply labels, stage items and close out of the manifest system.
• Maintain stock and stocking locations.
• Notify supervisor to order all required shipping supplies when needed.
• Inspect customer returned goods for accuracy and condition.
• Contact carriers for rate quotes on special shipments to obtain the best rate.

Working conditions:

• This job operates in a professional office and manufacturing environment.
• While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to drive, sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and occasionally lift products up to 50 pounds.
• This position may have minimal exposure to hazards such as dust, noise and fumes on the production floor.

• Read or understand simple and concise instructions or information in English
• Read documents, write short texts or communicate current or technical information in English
• Carry on a conversation involving various matters or compose technical texts in English

Qualifications:

Education:

High School or better.

Experience:

Prior experience using fork trucks, pallet jacks, strapping/wrapping equipment, scales and other related tools. Shipping experience in Manufacturing
