Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent; Three (3) years of previous experience in handling, capturing, transporting and caring for domestic animals, livestock, and common urban wildlife; Special Requirements Must be available on an “on-call” basis 24 hours a day to provide emergency services, as required, on evenings, week-ends and holidays Must possess and maintain a valid Massachusetts Driver’s license and be Massachusetts State certified as an Animal Control Officer. Physical Requirements Must be able to tolerate unpleasant sights, sounds and odors when handling animals that are stray, injured, diseased or dangerous. Must be able to perform moderate physical activity, such as, walking on uneven terrain, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, stooping, stretching, twisting and crawling, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds, and push and pull up to 200 pounds, as required.
