Salary:

Starting at $17.51 an hour (Non-exempt). Salary is commensurate with experience

About the Position:

Provide services that help families comply with court-ordered program participation and work through difficult situations and assist parents or other caregivers to maintain or reunify their family unit.

A Typical Day as a Family Visitation Specialist:

• Provides safe transportation for children and adolescents to and from sibling and/or parenting visits, medical visits, appointments, etc. as needed.
• Supervise parent/child visitation.
• Complete appropriate documentation regarding activities performed.
• Work in conjunction with the DCFS caseworker to provide coordinated case treatment.
• Conduct assessments and report to professional team members any progress, changes in the situations of persons served.

How you will spend your time in this position:

• 80% home visits/field work
• 10% documentation
• 10% training

Work Hours:

Schedule is flexible and non-traditional; based on the availability of youth and families served.

Does the Following Apply to You?

• High School Diploma or GED
• Child Welfare Experience (preferred)

Additional Qualifications:

• Completion of DCFS criminal background check and fingerprinting
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Obtain an insured vehicle
• At least three years of driving experience with a valid driver's license
