Requirements
- Active RN licensure (eligible to practice in North Carolina)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department
- Experience in a high-volume ED or Level II trauma center and stroke center preferred
- Certifications required prior to or on hire: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
- ENPC required within 90 days of hire
- Ability to work every other weekend and adjust schedule to department needs
- Comfortable floating among all sections of the ED, teamwork mindset, and ability to provide coaching/real-time feedback

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department, managing acuity consistent with typical patient ratios of 4:1 (up to 7:1 for behavioral holds)
- Use Cerner for documentation and maintain up-to-date patient boards and communication throughout the visit
- Operate common ED equipment (e.g., GE monitors, Baxter infusion pumps) and collaborate with techs, triage staff, and unit clerks
- Follow department patient experience expectations (AIDET, respectful interactions) and keep patients informed during their stay
- Cover shifts scheduled to meet departmental needs, including every other weekend; float within ED sections as required (no floating outside the ED)
- Participate in team-based care in a multicultural environment and support department goals for safety and quality

Job Description
This travel RN assignment supports an emergency department in Asheville, NC from 05/12/2026 to 08/11/2026 (approximately 91 days). The ED is a busy, 101-bed hospital unit serving a diverse, multilingual community and handles a high patient volume. The role requires experienced emergency nursing skills, strong teamwork, and the ability to float between ED sections. Clinicians will use Cerner for charting, work with common ED equipment (monitors and infusion pumps), follow patient-experience best practices, and meet departmental scheduling needs including every-other-weekend coverage. Multiple positions are available.
