Correctional Electrical and Electronics Supervisor Location: Maine State Prison, Warren, Maine Pay Grade 21: $54,038.40 - $74,006.40 (rate includes a $2.00/hr Correctional Career Stipend, $0.60/hr Institutional Stipend and 3.00% Salary Adjustment) Class Code: 5336 04000.0831 Open: May 19, 2026 | Close: June 3, 2026 Job Description This position is responsible for supervising the electrical maintenance program and/or electronic systems of the correctional facility. Duties include planning, assigning, and supervising the work of a Correctional Electrician II and overseeing Licensed Electrical Helpers. The role focuses on planning, directing, and supervising maintenance activities and developing a comprehensive electrical maintenance program. Representative Tasks Plan, direct, and oversee installation and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems to ensure safe and code‑compliant work. Direct and inspect installation and maintenance of light and power circuits to ensure proper installation and functioning. Plan, direct, monitor, inspect, and participate in wiring of various state‑owned buildings during construction or remodeling. Order and maintain inventory of materials and equipment to keep adequate supplies. Plan jobs to ensure proper repair, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems. Record procedures to maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records. Inspect electrical systems, projects, equipment, and buildings to ensure safe operation. Monitor and control residents’ behavior to accomplish assigned tasks and maintain security. Supervise and instruct residents on electrical projects to ensure tasks are completed safely and correctly. Implement and comply with human resources laws, policies, procedures, and practices. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Knowledge of applicable laws, rules, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of State and National Electrical Code. Knowledge of the tools, materials, methods, and practices of the electrical and electronic trade. Knowledge of the principles and theory of electricity and basic electronic theory. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions in the electrical trade. Knowledge of environmental operating parameters and security systems of the buildings. Knowledge of authorized building access rules and procedures. Knowledge of fiber optics and cables used for communication. Ability to supervise subordinate personnel. Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical integrated electronic and security system problems. Ability to research technical systems and make recommendations to management. Ability to schedule installation of devices for new or existing security system components. Ability to plan, assign, and evaluate the work of others. Ability to interpret and work from sketches, diagrams, and blueprints. Ability to keep records and files. Ability to estimate materials required for a job. Ability to detect and repair defects in a variety of electrical and electronic systems and equipment. Ability to use and care for tools and equipment used in the electrical/electronic trade. Ability to use applicable computer programs. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid Maine Master Electrician’s license issued by the Electrician’s Examining Board. Two (2) years of experience at the Master level. At least one (1) year of experience working in the field of electronics. Licensing / Registration / Certification Requirements Maine Master Electrician’s license as issued by the Electrician’s Examining Board.
