Mechanical Estimator

Job Summary: You will be responsible for preparing accurate, detailed cost estimates for mechanical components and systems in construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical trades and construction processes, along with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment. Job Duties:
- Review and evaluate requests for estimates and project quotations, as needed.
- Prepare the weekly bid calendar and ensure estimates are completed on time.
- Prepare and review estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy.
- Create job folders.
- Perform takeoffs from construction documents.
- Review construction documents to understand the scope of work for bidding.
- Obtain material pricing and subcontractor bids.
- Develop estimates when predetermined standards are not available.
- Notify the immediate supervisor of any inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or the estimating database.
- Develop and maintain cost data.
- Maintain estimating procedures and guidelines.
- Develop and maintain resource information for products, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Attend branch meetings.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Bluebeam construction software is a plus.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality to support timely, high-quality customer responsiveness.
- Ability to perform work accurately, with urgency, integrity, and strong attention to detail.
- HVAC experience preferred.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred; technical certifications and relevant work experience will also be considered.
- 3-5 years of experience in mechanical estimating.
- Working knowledge of mechanical drawings, schedules, details, and specifications.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
