About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1.5 years License: Any state RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must have EPIC experience Must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment Experience with stable chronic ventilators IV Start preferred Charge experience preferred Some level 1 or 2 experience preferred Travel experience preferred Description: Targeted patient ratios are 1:4, but they can be up to 1:5-6. For 48-hour contracts, overtime is paid out after 48 hours. Traveler will be the first to float at staff discretion. Floating assignments will be assigned based on medically appropriate needs. If assigned to float, traveler may be assigned to multiple campuses within a certain distance. Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday. The organization reserves the right to cancel shifts due to low census with prior notice. Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives. Requests for time off should be included in the initial application and will not be negotiated after the offer. All scheduling requests must be clearly stated in the application. No more than 14 days of requested time off are allowed. Lab work must be completed promptly after signing the contract. An EKG/Dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 72 hours of signing the contract. This exam is required for all nursing units except specified exceptions. References are not required. Various patient demographics will be cared for, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The unit will provide interdisciplinary support and deal with a range of patient diagnoses. Special equipment will be utilized for various medical procedures and patient care.
