Warehouse Specialist

The Warehouse Specialist (SSA) handles a variety of warehousing duties, including verifying materials against receiving documents, receiving, storing, stacking, palletizing materials, and preparing them for shipping. Major Job Activities Work with the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army) to receive, issue and store class II, IV and IX repair parts. Be capable of working in any section of the Supply Support Activity (SSA) except Shipping and Receiving. Locate information on issue documents (MRO) and compare details with parts being pulled or put away. Select stock in the quantities indicated by the document; report location discrepancies, shortages, and damages to the Supply Technician and Lead. Receive turn‑ins of items, inspect items, verify material numbers, nomenclature, quantity, and disposition process. Sign documents confirming receipt of items. Receive incoming shipments and assist in unloading vehicles at the loading ramp. Inspect for damages, check items against shipping documents and sign receipts. Unpack or uncrate incoming shipments as required and inspect for internal damage or missing components. Stock the warehouse according to assigned locations, restock, and relocate items while keeping repair parts organized. Operate forklift equipment weighing 2,000‑6,000 lbs. Perform Preventative Maintenance Checks & Services (PMCS) before, during, and after forklift use. Be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Perform other duties as assigned. Job duties may change due to contractual requirements. Material & Equipment Directly Used Standard office equipment and associated computer applications. Forklift. Working Environment Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety vest, steel or composite shoes/boots, safety gloves, hard hat, and eyewear in certain areas. Work will typically occur in a temperature‑controlled office environment with frequent exposure to electronic equipment. There may be times when an employee is exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Physical Activities Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 pounds. Must be able to operate in a warehouse and outdoor environment. Must be able to walk on uneven ground and work within various sites for 6‑8 hours a day. Qualifications Education/Certifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be able to pass the standard background check. Must be able to successfully pass a pre‑employment drug test. Must possess a valid REAL ID State Driver’s License with no restrictions. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC). Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI Tier 1 Public Trust. Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or U.S. Passport. Must be able to maintain driving privileges on the Fort Bragg Installation. Experience Four (4) years or more experience in warehouse operations. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact at all levels. Forklift license and experience preferred. Knowledge of GCSS-Army and regulatory supply systems. Knowledge of warehouse operations and use of protective personal equipment and OSHA standards. Other duties as assigned to meet organizational and operational objectives. Organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and perform with a high degree of accuracy. Skills Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Possess high ethical standards and demonstrate professionalism. Ability to work independently or in a team‑based, highly collaborative environment. Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
