Location: Manufactory, Distribution Center, and Corporate Offices

Job Summary:

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the facility, including offices, breakrooms, restrooms, and common areas. This role reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor within the Housekeeping department and may work independently or as part of a team to support daily facility operations.

Scope of job:

The Janitor plays a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of the facility, which directly supports employee health, safety, and the company's professional image. Core responsibilities include daily cleaning and disinfecting of interior spaces, trash removal, upkeep of exterior areas such as the parking lot, and maintaining adequate levels of cleaning and consumable supplies. The role interacts regularly with Production and other departments to ensure common areas remain sanitary and well-stocked, and is expected to notify the Maintenance Supervisor promptly of supply shortages, safety concerns, or facility issues that require attention.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Ensure all offices, breakrooms, restrooms, and common areas are cleaned and maintained to high standards.
• Disinfect commonly used items like door handles, office tools/equipment, and faucet handles.
• Empty all trash cans and replace liners in the facility, including Production Departments.
• Perform routine cleaning duties, such as maintaining the parking lot and exterior of the building.
• Responsible for inventory and organizing materials, notifying the Supervisor when running low on supplies.
• Replenish consumable items such as toiletries and paper products.
• May work independently or as part of a team, depending on facility needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned, based on company needs.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, products, chemicals, and equipment.
• Ability to follow safety, sanitation, and infection-control guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and good time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
• Basic communication skills to interact with supervisors, staff, and departments.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical cleaning tasks for extended periods.

Safety & Compliance

• Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct routine observations to identify unsafe conditions or behaviors.
• Ensure employees use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Report safety concerns, incidents, and near misses promptly.
• Reinforce compliance with company policies, attendance expectations, and manufacturing procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment using 5S and housekeeping standards.

Quality & Process Excellence

• Ensure all products meet Lucchese quality standards and customer expectations.
• Reinforce adherence to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and support execution of the training and development plan.
• Prevent unauthorized process changes and escalate improvement opportunities through the appropriate approval process.
• Partner with Quality and Manufacturing leadership to investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes, workflow, and quality.

Education, Experience, and/or Certifications:

• Minimum 0-1 years of experience in janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning work, or similar.
• High School Diploma/GED preferred, but not required.
• Certifications: None required.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching throughout a shift.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times, including trash bags and supply containers.
• Must be able to hear, and listen, to effectively communicate.
• Must be able to safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment, and tolerate exposure to related odors and fumes.

Work Environment:

• This position works across multiple settings, including the Manufactory (manufacturing/production floor), the Distribution Center (warehouse), and Corporate/Administrative Offices.
• May be exposed to varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, and moving machinery or equipment typical of a manufacturing and distribution environment.
• Regular use of industrial cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment is required; personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn as directed.
• Office areas involve a more traditional indoor climate-controlled environment.
