Surveying Project Manager

The Surveying Project Manager is responsible for planning, conducting, and directing work of projects, as well as preparing proposals, and managing project schedules and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide field documentation to survey crews in anticipation of office needs.
• Give and follow up on directions to field staff and other engineering technicians.
• Maintain project files including notes, research, and design documents.
• Prepare or direct preparation of client deliverables and ensure the QA/QC process has been completed.
• Gauge level of efforts of project and provide input for process efficiencies and tools for more efficient work.
• Perform survey research, computations, drafting and be able to read and write legal descriptions.
• Understand all state and local survey rules and standards.
• Attend survey related meetings with clients and municipalities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills; the ability to identify alternative solutions, consequences of proposed actions, and to implement recommendations in support of established goals.
• Outstanding teamwork, interpersonal and customer skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively; written and verbally.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, as well as in high pressure situations with frequent interruptions.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• An associate degree in a civil engineering or land surveying program is preferred.
• 10 + years of relevant work experience related to surveying services is required.
• 10 + years of experience related to managing projects and working with both internal and external clients.
• College course work in surveying or civil engineering field is preferred.

License or Certification Requirements:

• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Professional Land Surveying License is required.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to work in an office environment.

PPE Requirements:

• Hi-Visibility clothing should be worn on job sites and in the field as necessary.
