This role involves providing patient care and transportation within a busy metropolitan advanced life support ambulance service. The position supports emergency, non-emergency, convalescent, and long-distance transport missions. Accurate documentation of patient care, including billing information and treatment records, is essential.

Education & Certifications

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, which may be completed or renewed during orientation.
• Completion of NIMS 100, 200, and 700 courses.
• Valid driver's license required.
• EMT certification as per state requirements.

Experience

• Minimum of one year of field EMS, rescue, or related experience.
• Thorough knowledge of emergency medical procedures, rescue techniques, hazardous material incidents, and pre-hospital care equipment.
• Familiarity with regional geography, including major streets, landmarks, and care facilities, to be acquired within six months of employment.

• Ability to remain calm and follow protocols under high-stress situations.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact compassionately and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare personnel.
• Capability to operate various ambulance vehicles safely and knowledge of emergency driving procedures.
• Physical strength to lift and move patients weighing up to 150 pounds regularly, including transferring patients between beds, chairs, and stretchers.
• Understanding of age-specific physiological, psychosocial, developmental, and spiritual patient needs.
• Good hearing, speaking, and visual acuity.
• Ability to navigate multiple physical environments, including confined spaces.
