About the job Registered Nurse (RN), Med/Surg Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Nursing Process Deliver evidence-based nursing care to promote positive patient outcomes and reduce hospital readmissions. Follow infection control protocols and standard precautions when handling patients and materials. Conduct comprehensive health assessments, collecting information from patients, families, and healthcare providers. Identify patient care needs and develop individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with patients and their families. Implement nursing interventions that align with established patient care standards and coordinate with other healthcare disciplines. Continuously evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly. Clinical Leadership & Team Coordination Work collaboratively with physicians, therapists, and other nursing staff to ensure continuity of care. Provide mentorship and guidance to other nursing personnel as needed. Maintain documentation and adhere to hospital and unit-specific policies and procedures. Qualifications Education & Certification Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or completion of a Nursing Diploma program, Bachelors in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Licensure: Active RN license in Arizona or a Compact State RN license. Certification: Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Unit-Specific Requirement Medical-Surgical Unit: Basic EKG competency must be obtained within 3 months of hire. De-escalation Techniques course within 6 months of hire and every 2 years thereafter.
