Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Registered Nurse (RN)We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our team, providing care to a diverse patient population. Our facility sees between 150-180 patients daily, with a total of 33 beds available in the Emergency Department, including specialized areas for trauma and behavioral health.Patient Types:Neonates to geriatric patientsMinor to critical cases, including:SepsisDKA (Diabetic Ketoacidosis)Respiratory illnessesGI bleeds that require emergent blood productsHeavy trauma incidents such as stab wounds, gunshot wounds, motor vehicle collisions, drownings, and fallsStroke cases, with the ability to treat patients within 24 hours of symptom onsetCare for sexual assault patients, including evidence collectionPediatric Intensive Care Unit patientsCardiac patients, with access to a cardiac catheter labPatient Ratios:Registered Nurse: 1:4-5Licensed Practical Nurse: 1:4-5ED Technicians: 1:10Required Certifications:Registered Nurse: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, PALS (all required); CPI or MAB/MOAB preferredLicensed Practical Nurse: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS (all required); CPI or MAB/MOAB preferredRequired Education:Completion of a nursing education program approved by a state board of nursing for Registered Nurses.Skills Required:Experience with a wide range of patient types as outlined aboveAbility to perform ESI assessments during triageCritical thinking and prioritization skills to manage patient care effectivelyGood communication skills and a willingness to seek assistance when neededAbility for ICU and PCU RNs to float to the ED as neededSupport on the Unit:Emergency Department TechniciansCharge nurse available 24/7Phlebotomy services available 24/7Respiratory Therapists available in the ED at all times24/7 physician and nurse practitioner coverageSupport from pharmacy techs and security personnelCharting System:Experience with EPIC charting system is preferred.Orientation:8 hours of general facility orientation4 hours of ED-specific educationMinimum of two 12-hour shifts on the unit, with adjustments for contracted hoursScheduling:Shifts are variable to meet department needs, with hours including morning and evening shifts.
