Maintenance Technician I

Assists in repairing and maintaining machinery, equipment, physical structures, and plumbing and electrical systems of industrial establishment. Performs aesthetic preventative maintenance (APM) by performing the following duties.

• Assists appropriate personnel in dismantling machines or equipment, replaces defective parts and motors, and adjusts feed mechanisms.

• Cleans and lubricates machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings.

• Replaces or repairs machine belts.

• Removes dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines.

• Paints machines or equipment to prevent corrosion.

• Assists appropriate personnel in bending, cutting, and threading pipe, cuts openings in walls, ceilings, and floors for pipes, and seals pipe joints with sealing compound.

• Cuts out and joins parts for worktables, benches, shelves and other furnishings.

• Patches or replaces plaster or plasterboard and paints walls, ceilings, and trim of building.

• Clears clogged drains, and may repair or replace plumbing fixtures.

• Furnishes appropriate personnel with materials, tools, and supplies.

• Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.

• Assists other casino departments with minor maintenance and preparation for special events.

• Repair or replace light bulbs and electrical motors.

• Changes HVAC filters and knowledge of use of thermostats.

• Other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Team Members of organization.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • While employed, must maintain a valid and active Blue Lake Tribal Gaming Commission License.
  • While employed, must maintain a valid California State Drivers License.
  • Must complete TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) training for serving alcohol responsibly within three months of being employed and maintain a valid certificate while employed thereafter.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
