A primary responsibility of this role will be to provide legal coverage for Citi Community Capital, a business unit at Citi responsible for originating, underwriting and securitizing loans that finance multifamily affordable financing as well making Low Income Housing Tax Credit and other equity investments in affordable housing and community development. Applicants should have experience in structured finance and securitizations and commercial real estate, ideally with background in the Community Reinvestment Act.Responsibilities include:Advising the businesses on relevant legal and market developments and Citi policies;Maintaining and updating model loan documentation;Partnering with businesses in recommending, developing and executing business plans;Leading transactional negotiations for securitizations and loan transactions; andWorking closely with control function partners, internal review committees, and industry organizations.Qualifications:5-7+ years of relevant industry experience, preferably in financial servicesBanking or financial industry experience, including laws related to banking regulationsKnowledge of applicable laws, regulations and practices while staying abreast of regulatory and legal environment, internal policies and industry trends that impact the businessExperience with complex deals, demonstrated ability to analyze issues and develop legal solutionsEffective communication and negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain trusted relationshipsExcellent interpersonal, organizational and relationship management skillsProven ability to apply sound judgement while managing assignments in a demanding, fast-paced environmentBar license in good standing to practice lawEducation:Juris Doctorate or equivalent law degree------------------------------------------------------Job Family Group: Legal------------------------------------------------------Job Family:Legal - Product------------------------------------------------------Time Type:Full time------------------------------------------------------Primary Location:New York New York United States------------------------------------------------------Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:$211,280.00 - $316,920.00In addition to salary, Citi’s offerings may also include, for eligible employees, discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
