Millwright Position at Cypress BendThe Cypress Bend facility is located in the historic Mississippi River Delta and produces bleached paperboard and bleached Kraft pulp, used in the production of folding cartons, commercial print paperboard, carded packaging, and cupstock. This facility boasts over 300 talented employees and stretches across 730 acres. Cypress Bend emphasizes exposure to the arts including the WWII Japanese Internment Museum, Desha County Museum, and SEArk Concert Association.Cypress Bend is in close proximity to McGehee, Monticello, and Drew Central public schools as well as UAM McGehee College of Technology and UAM Crossett College of Technology.The Millwright position for the maintenance team at the Cypress Bend location, is responsible for maintaining machinery throughout the mill to ensure efficient operations and decreased unscheduled machine down-time. An experienced Millwright is already certified in one or more of our primary mechanical crafts and can demonstrate skills immediately. We have a need for a qualified millwright to join our team.Proficiently perform at least one (1) of the recognized primary mechanical crafts and act as a knowledgeable helper in all other recognized primary crafts including:PipefitterMillwrightMachinistWelderAuto/Diesel MechanicHVACElectricalInstrumentationChange out equipmentSafely operate a variety of tools (power, machine shop, gasoline powered, hand tools, etc.)Safely operate company vehicles including forklift, overhead crane, clamp truckHold self and others to high level of safety standards, ensuring workplace safety policies are upheld and safety rules are followed (lockout/tagout procedures, appropriate PPE, safe driving practices, proper lifting techniques, etc.)Participate as needed in safety incidents and help investigate root causeOperate, maintain, and inspect equipment to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations, procedural reporting, and documentation requirementsTo be successful in this position, we are looking for candidates with the following:High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required)Associates degree in Electro/mechanical Technology or Industrial Maintenance highly desiredMinimum 5 years continuous work experience in a high-speed manufacturing, production, industrial, or labor-intensive work environment as a maintenance mechanic preferredCertified in one or more of the site's recognized mechanical primary craftsAble to demonstrate skills and perform work proficiently on his/her own in certified primary craftsUnderstand and comply with all manufacturing safety procedures including personal protective equipment (required)Able to work in a physically demanding environment including temperature extremes, loud noise, avoiding slipping, tripping, and falling hazardsPhysically capable of manual labor that includes bending, walking, sitting, and climbing in and around machinery and equipment for entire 10 or 12-hour shiftAble to lift, up to 40 lbs frequently, between 40 and 50 lbs occasionally, over 50 lbs minimally. When lifting 50 lbs and above, Operator will use team lifting and overhead crane assistance.Work environment includes exposure to compressed air, steam, lubrication oil, dust, and hydraulic fluid.Able to work a primarily 10-hour shift including nights, weekends, and Holidays.
