Local custom cabinet shop seeking an experienced spray finisher (2+ years) to sand, prep, and apply stains and conversion varnish to a high standard. We don’t just build to code or plan; we build to exceed expectations. Description Kenowa Builders is a locally owned residential builder specializing in high-end remodeling and custom homes. Our cabinet shop produces custom cabinetry and millwork, and we hold a high bar on finish quality. We're looking for an experienced finisher to help run our finishing operation and deliver a flawless, consistent finish on every piece that leaves the shop. This is a hands‑on finishing role across our full line, including an Alpha-Brush sander, a Makor reciprocating spray machine, and an open spray booth. Sanding and spraying are both a big part of the day. If you take pride in a clean, consistent stain and finish and know your way around spray and sanding equipment, we want to talk to you. What you'll do Sand and prep parts throughout the finishing process, including running the Alpha-Brush sander and hand sanding, denibbing, and scuff sanding between coats (sanding is a significant part of this job) Operate the Makor reciprocating spray machine for production parts Hand spray doors, panels, face frames, and components in the open booth using our air-assisted spray equipment Apply stains, sealers, and conversion varnish to a high standard Match staining to designer-selected colors and approved samples, keeping color and sheen consistent across every run Load, stage, and move parts through the line and our heated drying room Inspect parts for runs, dust nibs, orange peel, sheen, and coverage, and correct as needed Maintain spray guns, the booth, filters, and finishing equipment in clean working order Keep the finishing area clean, organized, and safe What we're looking for 2+ years of professional spray finishing experience, preferably in a cabinet or millwork shop Hands‑on experience spraying conversion varnish, stains, and sealers A sharp eye for staining consistency, color, and sheen across a run Comfortable hand spraying with air-assisted equipment in an open booth Solid sanding skills and willingness to make sanding a core part of the role Experience with automated finishing lines (reciprocating sprayer, brush sander) is a strong plus, but we'll train the right person Reliable, self‑motivated, and able to manage your own workflow Comfortable wearing a respirator and following solvent and PPE safety practices Able to stand for long periods and lift and handle cabinet components Note: We source out our color matching, so you won't need to formulate colors. Your job is applying the matched product cleanly and consistently to hit the designer's selections.
