Lead Toddler Teacher – Young 2-Year-Old Classroom

We’re looking for a teacher who believes that little moments lead to BIG learning!

At Bee Kids Preschool Learning Center, we believe childhood should be filled with love, discovery, laughter, and meaningful learning experiences. We are looking for an enthusiastic, patient, and experienced Lead Toddler Teacher to guide our youngest two-year-olds through one of the most exciting stages of early childhood development!

Our ideal teacher understands that two-year-olds are learning so much more than colors, shapes, and numbers. They are discovering independence, developing language, learning to manage big emotions, building friendships, and figuring out how the world around them works.

What We're Looking For

We are searching for a teacher who isn't afraid to get down on the floor, sing silly songs, dance with toddlers, paint masterpieces, build towers, read the same favorite book five times, and celebrate every little milestone along the way!

Our ideal Lead Toddler Teacher:

• Has a genuine passion for teaching and nurturing young children.
• Understands the developmental needs of newly two-year-old children.
• Demonstrates patience, compassion, and consistency when guiding challenging behaviors.
• Uses positive redirection and age-appropriate classroom management techniques.
• Creates an environment where children feel safe, loved, encouraged, and excited to learn.
• Encourages independence, exploration, creativity, and discovery through hands-on learning.
• Understands that toddlers are still learning to communicate their needs and manage their emotions.
• Can maintain a structured classroom schedule while remaining flexible to children's developmental needs.
• Is organized, dependable, energetic, and able to lead a classroom confidently.
• Enjoys collaborating with co-teachers, school leadership, and families.

Key Responsibilities

Classroom Leadership & Curriculum

• Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate learning activities using the Bee Kids curriculum.
• Incorporate music, movement, sensory play, art, storytelling, and hands-on discovery into daily lessons.
• Maintain a consistent classroom routine that includes learning activities, meals, rest, outdoor play, and transitions.
• Create an inviting classroom environment that encourages curiosity and independence.
• Guide and support a co-teacher in maintaining a positive, productive classroom.

Social & Emotional Development

• Help toddlers develop communication skills, emotional regulation, and healthy social interactions.
• Use patience, positive reinforcement, and intentional redirection to address challenging behaviors.
• Teach children how to express their needs, share, take turns, and begin solving problems.
• Recognize that challenging behaviors are often opportunities to teach new skills.

Health, Safety & Licensing

• Maintain compliance with Tennessee Department of Human Services childcare licensing requirements.
• Follow all Bee Kids policies and procedures regarding supervision, classroom ratios, sanitation, diapering, and child safety.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom.
• Ensure accurate attendance, name-to-face accountability, and appropriate supervision throughout the day.

Parent Communication & Teamwork

• Build positive, professional relationships with families.
• Communicate children's developmental progress, milestones, and daily experiences.
• Work collaboratively with school leadership and fellow teachers.
• Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, and a team-first attitude.

Qualifications

Preferred:

• At least 2 years of experience working with toddlers , particularly children ages 18–30 months.
• Previous experience as a Lead Teacher in a licensed childcare or preschool setting.
• Knowledge of toddler development, positive behavior guidance, and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Experience implementing classroom schedules and early childhood curriculum.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.

Required:

• Ability to meet Tennessee childcare licensing requirements.
• Ability to pass required background checks.
• Willingness to complete required professional development and training.
• Ability to actively supervise, lift, and care for young children throughout the day.
