Position Details Department: PCH-MAIN | Dialysis Administration Location: Phoenix Shift: Tue, Thu, Fri, Sat (days vary) Category: Patient Access Posting #: 1010785 Employee Type: Part-Time (0.6 FTE) Position Summary Unit Support Associate for our Dialysis clinic. Part‑time role (3 days/wk, 8am‑5pm). Responsible for patient scheduling, account management, prior authorizations, registration, billing accuracy, phone handling, and support for registration and billing. Works closely with nurses, technicians, and leadership in a fast‑paced environment. Requires at least 1 year of medical registration, prior authorization, and HIPAA experience. Strong organizational, multitasking, independent, and collaborative skills. Training approx 6 weeks with ongoing support. Responsibilities Obtain and document demographic and financial information via phone and HIS Obtain authorizations for procedures, determining payor requirements Accurately document patient account and prioritize workflow Provide accurate documentation for patient accounts, explaining activities to families and staff Organize, prioritize, and monitor daily work activities to ensure accurate pre‑registration, registration, billing, and family counseling in a timely manner Register and arrive patients into procedure area, collect co‑pay and deductible, obtain signatures, verify insurance, and maintain data accuracy in HIS Answer telephone and door courteously, answering questions promptly Maintain positive relationship with patients, guarantors, insurance companies, government entities, clinical personnel, coworkers, and management Participate in unit and hospital educational programs to maintain current skill and competency levels Maintain understanding of the federal marketplace, Medicare, managed care, AHCCCS, and other payer rules, authorization, and billing requirements Provide feedback to management regarding work‑related problems and assist with resolution to provide excellent customer service Provide administrative support for unit: supply orders, communication facilitation, scheduling, copying, faxing, electronic documentation; prepare agendas and minutes, maintain calendar of meetings Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as requested Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED (required) Experience One year of administrative support experience (Associate in Business or related field may substitute) Minimum one year of medical registration experience Experience with HIPAA Privacy Act Special Skills Experience in Windows environment using MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel) Additional Requirements None Physical Requirements & Occupational Exposure/Risk Potential Physical Requirement - Climbing - Frequently Physical Requirement - Feeling (sensing textures and temperatures) - Frequently Physical Requirement - Fine Motor Skills (pinching, gripping, etc) - Occasionally Physical Requirement - Hearing - Constantly Physical Requirement - Pushing/pulling - Occasionally Physical Requirement - Reaching - Frequently Physical Requirement - Sitting - Frequently Physical Requirement - Standing - Occasionally Physical Requirement - Stooping/crouching/kneeling/crawling - Occasionally Physical Requirement - Talking - Constantly Physical Requirement - Tasting/smelling - Frequently Physical Requirement - Walking - Frequently Physical Requirement - Near Vision - Frequently Physical Requirement - Far Vision - Constantly Physical Requirement - Use of keyboard, mouse and/or computer equipment - Constantly Physical Requirement - Lift up to 35 pounds without assistance - Occasionally Physical Requirement - Lift more than 35 pounds without assistance - Occasionally Occupational Exposure/Risk Potential - Inside office environment - Applicable Occupational Exposure/Risk Potential - Bloodborne pathogens or bodily fluid - Applicable #J-18808-Ljbffr Phoenix Children's
