Analytical Chemist

Apex Systems is looking to hire an ONSITE Analytical Chemist (R&D / Quality) for our client based out of Hagerstown, MD .
This assignment is anticipated to be a 6month contract with strong potential for extension; however, Apex Systems cannot guarantee the length of this assignment. This will also have a firstshift Monday-Friday schedule. Responsibilities:- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation used for chemical analysis and material characterization.
- Develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods to support product testing and quality assurance.
- Design and execute experiments using techniques such as spectroscopy, chromatography, and wet chemistry to evaluate materials and products.
- Analyze experimental data and provide technical insights to support research, development, and manufacturing efforts.
- Perform routine and nonroutine quality control testing to ensure products meet established specifications and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to troubleshoot process issues and improve product performance and durability.
- Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities, experimental procedures, and results in compliance with documentation standards.
- Utilize laboratory data systems to track, manage, and report analytical results.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laboratory practices, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Stay current on advancements in analytical techniques and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- Handson laboratory experience in analytical chemistry, wet chemistry, or related areas within R&D, manufacturing, or quality environments.
- Experience working with analytical instrumentation such as ICPOES, FTIR, TGA, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with analytical techniques including chromatography (GC/HPLC) and spectroscopy methods.
- Knowledge of laboratory standards and protocols such as GLP, CGMP, ISO 9001, or similar quality frameworks.
- Strong problemsolving and analytical skills with attention to detail in experimental design and data interpretation.
- Experience working both independently and within crossfunctional teams in a fastpaced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and collaboration.
- Experience supporting product development or manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems or data management tools.
- Experience presenting technical findings to diverse audiences.
