Job Status: Full/Part TimePrimary Officing Campus: BrentwoodSUMMARYThe Brentwood Campus Custodian is responsible to the church, under the direction of the Facility Crew Supervisor and the Associate Facility Manager, for maintaining the church facilities in a clean and orderly manner to ensure they are ready for planned church activities and events.PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following:Set up all assembly and classroom areas of building for church functions, set up tables and chairs for banquets, special meetings, and similar occasions.Clean all restrooms and maintain adequate supply of soap, toilet articles, towels and other supplies in proper containers; empty wastebaskets; collect and remove refuge from buildingsSweep, mop, and/or scrub, and wax floors per schedule or as necessitated by events; dust furniture and shelving; wash walls and windows, and vacuum carpets as scheduled.Prepare facilities for special use as requested by supervisor and assist when facilities and arrangements are needed for weddings and funerals.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following:Make minor non-technical repairs to the building and equipment, replace light bulbs.Maintain task and cleaning logs and turn in to supervisor dailyComplete other duties as assigned by supervisor.COMPETENCIES AND TRAITS:In addition to the specific responsibilities required for this role, Brentwood Baptist Church also seeks candidates that possess some general competencies and behavioral traits that enhance the effectiveness of our staff.Individual ContributionManages details, tasks and projects efficiently without frequent remindersMaximizes time effectively by focusing on “must do” priorities when necessaryAnticipates/avoids problems or formulates creative solutionsMakes timely decisions that produce quality outcomesAdheres to commitments, schedules and deadlinesDemonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of issues and topics pertaining to the area of his/her job specialty (for Professional Staff positions only)Team ContributionDemonstrates flexibility, adapts well to changing priorities or situationsSelf-directed and proactive, level of supervision required is appropriateIs willing to take on additional responsibilities, helps with a “can-do” attitudeCollaborates well with others to accomplish group tasksUses written and verbal communication in a way that accomplishes intended resultsSelf-DevelopmentPrioritizes and accomplishes self-development goalsDemonstrates an ongoing commitment to obtaining the KASH (knowledge, attitude, skill, and habits) necessary to be successful in this roleTeachable spirit with a desire to learn and growMaintains appropriate gap between the current job description and the employee’s current abilities that allows for future growth.QUALIFICATIONS:Good communication skillsA servant’s heartProfessional appearance and attitudeExcellent interpersonal skillsA team player attitudeStrong work ethicAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
