About This Role

Our ideal candidate is a dedicated and passionate educator who is committed to providing a high-quality preschool education to young children. This role requires a strong understanding of child development and learning, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging lesson plans, managing classroom activities, and collaborating with parents and staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.

• Establish a structured routine for the class of children, aligning with the preschool's purpose and curriculum,
• Collaborate with the Director to source and manage classroom supplies and equipment,
• Assist with the publication of a school newsletter for families,
• Plan and implement engaging class activities, and provide input for teacher assistant evaluations,
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, and communicate effectively with parents through regular updates and scheduled conferences,
• Assist the Director with clerical duties, and contribute to the planning of preschool events and functions,
• Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers, and provide guidance on classroom management and behavior,
• Evaluate student progress, and use assessment data to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions,
• Use classroom management skills to establish and maintain a positive classroom environment, and communicate effectively with parents and staff,
• Schedule and facilitate team meetings, and attend conferences and workshops to stay up-to-date on best practices,
• Be aware of and enforce all emergency and other stated policies,
• Maintain accurate records and documentation, and provide a smooth transition in the event of an absence,

• Maintain confidentiality,
• Be Christian, by faith affirmation and as demonstrated by example for the parents and students.
• Possess good communication skills,
• Ability to relate well to young children and adults,
• Be able to work cooperatively with parents, staff, volunteers, and the Preschool Board,
• Current knowledge of child development and how children learn,
• 2-3 years of teaching experience,
• Preferably hold a degree in Early Childhood Education and/or Education, but is not required,
• Be organized, creative, dependable, and flexible,
