Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional flexibility required to ensure optimal patient care and clinic operations. Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will:

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in implementing and documenting individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, ensuring proper techniques are used to facilitate mobility enhancement and pain alleviation.
• Administer modalities like electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and temperature therapies, following the firm guidance of a supervising Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients about body mechanics, exercise techniques, and home exercise programs to support their recovery.
• Monitor patient progress meticulously, documenting observations regarding strength, range of motion, and functional improvements.
• Prepare treatment areas and ensure that equipment and therapeutic supplies are well-organized and easily accessible for therapy sessions.
• Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists, to coordinate comprehensive patient care and enhance therapeutic outcomes.
• Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients to foster motivation and positivity throughout their rehabilitation journey.
• Adhere to ABA ethical standards of practice, maintaining patient confidentiality and respecting their rights.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The PTA will engage with a diverse demographic, including geriatric patients recovering from surgeries, pediatric patients requiring developmental assistance, athletes rehabilitating after injuries, and individuals with neurological impairments. Our clinic prioritizes a patient-centered approach, ensuring that therapy aligns with each patient's unique lifestyle and rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

• A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• A current and valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Strong foundational knowledge in anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic interventions.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and collaborate efficiently with team members.
• A compassionate and patient-centered approach to rehabilitation, dedicated to assisting patients in achieving their goals.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient assessments and treatment progress.

Preferred Experience

While we welcome recent graduates, experience in a rehabilitation or clinical setting and familiarity with therapeutic modalities will be advantageous.
