Labor Relations Specialist/School Attorney

Overview Madison-Oneida BOCES in Verona, NY, is looking for a full-time experienced Labor Relations Specialist / School Attorney to work with school district leaders and serves as a chief negotiator for participating school districts. This position will report to the Director of Labor Relations & Policy and the Deputy Superintendent. Responsibilities Represent participating school districts in matters such as: Personnel and employee relations Disciplinary proceedings Investigation of employment discrimination claims Administration of collective bargaining agreements Analyze trends in existing employment, wage and salary practices Plan and conduct workshops and seminars for administrative personnel Consult with school boards of educations to interpret and develops policies and procedures Serve as both Labor Relations Specialist and School Attorney Qualifications Admission to the NYS Bar Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience in collective bargaining, preferably in the public sector Familiarity with federal and state law governing: Employee relations Operations of school districts 3-5 years of experience as a practicing attorney Experience in public sector labor law required Why you want to work here MOBOCES is a regional educational agency that assists students, teachers, support staff, school administrators and school districts in our region.
