Forklift Operator Offsite Warehouse

This role involves operating various types of forklift equipment to pick, move, and load products in a high-volume distribution environment. You will train at the main site and then transition to an offsite warehouse nearby, where you will handle store-bound inventory, load trailers for delivery, and use computer systems to maintain accurate inventory records.

SHIFT:

5PM TO 1:30AM - Monday to Friday

9:30pm to 6am - Sunday night to Friday morning

Responsibilities:

• Train at the main distribution site and then work full-time at the nearby offsite warehouse location.
• Pick products from designated bins and locations to fulfill store and customer orders.
• Load and unload trailers safely and efficiently using reach trucks, clamp trucks, and electric pallet jacks.
• Operate stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, and electric pallet jacks to move product throughout the warehouse.
• Use RF scanners and computer systems to record bin moves, order picks, and product transfers.
• Update inventory information accurately in the SAP system to ensure product quantities and locations are correct.
• Handle appliances and other products carefully using clamp trucks and other material-handling equipment.
• Perform picking, packing, loading, unloading, and general warehouse distribution tasks as assigned.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency.
• Follow all safety procedures, including safe operation of moving machinery and adherence to warehouse safety rules.
• Work overtime as needed with supervisor approval to support business demands.
• Stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly while performing daily tasks.

Essential Skills:

• Proven experience operating forklift equipment, including stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, and electric pallet jacks.
• Hands-on experience with reach trucks and clamp trucks in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Ability to start operating forklifts quickly with minimal ramp-up time and move product safely and efficiently.
• Computer literacy with the ability to navigate systems and update inventory information.
• Experience using SAP or similar warehouse management systems to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Proficiency using RF scanners for picking, inventory, and bin moves.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical work environment.
• Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements such as bending, squatting, and using a 10-key or calculator.
• Experience in picking, packing, loading, unloading, and warehouse distribution operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience working in large distribution centers or high-volume warehouse operations.
• Familiarity with handling appliances or large commercial products in a warehouse setting.
• Comfort working around moving machinery, loud noises, and temperature variations.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order picking and inventory updates.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a large team across multiple shifts.
• Willingness to work overtime when approved to meet operational needs.

Work Environment:

You will work in a large distribution center of approximately 500,000 square feet, with about 250 associates spread across different shifts. The facility supplies appliances and other products to a mix of direct and commercial customers. The typical environment is generally comfortable but includes regular exposure to temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes, resulting in a moderate level of physical risk that is managed through safety procedures. The role requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing repetitive movements such as bending and squatting. There are multiple openings on a shift starting at 2:00 p.m., with a strong focus on reach truck and clamp truck operation. Overtime is available with supervisor approval, providing additional earning potential within a structured warehouse setting.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burlington, NJ.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
