This leadership position will lead strategic initiatives that include: Establishing best practices for Spanish-English medical translation certification for clinicians proficient in medical Spanish. Designing and implementing curricula that prepare learners to meet national translation and interpretation certification standards in medical Spanish. Developing education programs tailored to related care needs across our clinical environments, ensuring relevance and impact. As part of implementation, setting and implementing metrics to gather return on investment data on cost savings and patient-related outcomes associated with medical Spanish training and certification. The successful candidate will: Hold a terminal degree (PhD, MD, DO) Have a history of building educational programs targeted to meeting needs of medical professionals as they serve the South Texas Community. Have experience in budgetary programmatic management and/or directing successful educational programs. Work collaboratively with clinical departments and healthcare teams to ensure medical Spanish education aligns with real-world patient care needs and enhances communication in a variety of clinical or research settings. Demonstrate a passion for advancing healthcare through language access, and possess the vision to integrate medical Spanish education as a cornerstone of culturally competent care. Time Off- A generous leave program offers multiple paid leave options: Front-loaded Paid Time Off: 128 to 208 hours (16 to 26 days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire. Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken. Paid Family Leave: Up to 240 hours (6 weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or parent after 6 months of consecutive employment. Holidays: 12 set paid holidays each fiscal year.
