The Software Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining software applications with a strong emphasis on geospatial technologies, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.Key responsibilities include:Design, code, test, and debug software applicationsDevelop and maintain GIS applications using ESRI technologiesCollaborate with team members on software design and code reviewsWrite clean, maintainable, and efficient codeParticipate in all phases of the software development lifecycleTroubleshoot and resolve software defectsDocument technical specifications and maintain software documentationParticipate in Agile development processes including daily stand-ups and sprint planningImplement security and data protection solutionsOptimize application performance and scalabilityCreate and maintain geospatial databases and servicesEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Development, GIS, or related field3+ years of professional software development experienceProven experience with GIS software developmentExperience with version control systems (preferably Git)Required Skills and Competencies:Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, C++, or similar)Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principlesExperience with relational databases and SQLDemonstrated experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), specifically:Commercial Joint Mapping Toolkit (CJMTK)ESRI ArcGIS suite of commercial software developer componentsArcGIS RuntimeArcGIS EngineArcGIS extensions including:3-D AnalystGeostatistical AnalystNetwork AnalystSpatial AnalystTracking AnalystArcGIS ServerKnowledge of software development methodologies and best practicesFamiliarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)Strong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesExperience with testing frameworks and methodologiesUnderstanding of software security principlesAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesMust be able to work on-site at Stennis Space Center, MSClearance Requirement:Secret security clearance Desired Skills and Competencies:Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Knowledge of microservices architectureExperience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)Familiarity with CI/CD pipelinesExperience with Agile development methodologiesKnowledge of DevOps practicesExperience with test-driven developmentFederal government contract experienceSecurity clearance or ability to obtain oneExperience with mobile application developmentAdvanced GIS analysis and modeling skillsExperience with spatial databasesKnowledge of cartographic principlesExperience with remote sensing data and applicationsOur Equal Employment Opportunity PolicyThe company is an equal opportunity employer.
