Clinic Testing Technician E/O/eE Position Summary The Clinic Testing Technician assists all patients and Doctors preparing patients for preliminary eye exams and obtaining complete and accurate medical history. This position provides technical and logistical support for the Lead Technicians in the clinic to facilitate patient flow and time management, while providing the highest standards of patient care, comfort and security. Essential Skills/Responsibilities Obtains and completes health history on all new patients; ensures that updated health history forms are completed annually for each patient. Performs preliminary testing on patients including Argos, Pentacam, Immersion A-Scan, Contact A-Scan, B-Scan, Tonometry, visual acuity, automated visual fields, manual/automated lensometry, OPD. Endo cell count, Epic, OCT, automatic refraction, glare testing, EOM's, confrontational fields, Manual K’s, Goldman Applanation Tonometry, and fundus photography, color vision, pachymetry, fusion test, tear lab, inflamma dry, lipiscan, and pupil exam. Able to perform manifest refractions on pre-op and post-op patients as needed. Assists per surgeons’ instructions for surgical plans (i.e. Catalys, post refractive and specialty lenses). Communicates with manager regarding all photographic supplies and special lenses to ensure they are in stock prior to surgery. Ensures all surgical charts are complete and taken to the surgery center and/or Clinic Training/Documentation Specialist within 48-hours to 2 business days prior to surgery day. Maintains positive appearance of work-up and exam rooms, which includes general cleaning; proper sterilization technique throughout the clinic and on surgical equipment and proper storage of equipment and autoclave. Maintains medical instrument care and performs basic OR duties. Assists with injections and other minor procedures. Assists with early morning cataract clinic, as needed. Opens and closes work-up and exam lanes; keeps all areas stocked with supplies including special forms. Adds needed supplies to Cleaning Check-Off Forms that is to be signed daily. Assists in preparing cataract packets/laser packets, adding forms to charts, distributing letters to new cataract patients. Cross-trains as a Clinic Technician, and in other clinics, in order to fill in when needed. Completes all assigned trainings. Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR certified preferred. Completes all compliance training requested by company and required by law. Adheres to HIPAA Compliance plan. Communicates internally with all Physicians, Staff, and Patients. Communicates externally with vendors, Travels to other clinics as needed. All other duties as assigned. Requirements Job Specifications / Competencies Education/Experience One year of college or technical school; OR six months to one year related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience. COA or working towards certification, with attainment of COA required within 24-36 months of employment per parameters in policy. Skills Demonstrated excellence in verbal communication, as well as, written communication. Exemplary customer service and interpersonal skills. Project Management. Time Management. Physical Requirements Ability to sit/stand/walk and talk/hear as the job requires for long periods of time, as well as, stoop/crouch, lift, push/pull and climb/balance as needed. Corrected or uncorrected visual acuity in at least one eye of 20/40 or better. Ability to operate office equipment requiring the use of one hand. Corrected or uncorrected hearing capacity to enable suitable telephone communication skills. Ability to work in clinical environment with a moderate noise level. #J-18808-Ljbffr
