Required Skills & Experience: Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or similar field
3-6 years of experience in a similar role
3D CAD experience
Experience reviewing Bills of Materials (BOMs), releasing drawings, reviewing drawings with suppliers to ensure manufacturability, and opening CAD models.
Required Background: Prior experience working in shops and labs, showing comfort in continuing to work in those hands-on environments.
Key Tools: Experience with 3D CAD tools, specifically Uni Graphics NX.
Core Responsibilities and Scope:
- Highly hands-on role supporting the shop floor and labs rather than being desk-bound.
- Act as the "eyes and the legs" on-site for engineers located in Erie, Brazil, and India.
- Support daily shop operations and address issues as they arise.
- Assist the lab with ongoing validation processes.
- Work with senior engineers to support the completion of tests.
- Provide engineering design support, which includes handling engineering change requests, reviewing Bills of Materials (BOMs), releasing drawings, reviewing drawings with suppliers to ensure manufacturability, and opening CAD models.
- Collaborate closely with design engineers, manufacturing technicians, test engineers, and sourcing teams.
