Assist in providing a compassionate physical, social and psychological environment, which will allow the resident to achieve the highest level of functioning. Performs duties in accordance with established nursing objectives, standards, facility policies and procedures, and residents' rights.Job DescriptionA. NURSING ASSISTANT GENERAL DUTIESDuties: Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing of bed linens, and positioning in and out of bed, chair, etc. Assist and encourage participation in resident recreation programs. Ensure residents are given correct diet. Prepare residents for meals and snacks, assist residents in eating, providing appropriate utensils and assistance with meals as needed, recording food intake. Read and follow plan of care; perform assigned restorative and rehabilitative procedures; report changes in resident condition to nurse in charge; document care provision on resident record/flow sheets as required. Report all accidents and incidents immediately to the supervisor.B. CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLSDuties: Promote and maintain positive relationships with co-workers, residents, visitors, volunteers, and regulators. Directly respond, within their scope of practice, to needs and concerns of residents and family members. Work with the care-giving team to identify and resolve resident and family issues. Proficient in performing technical skills required of a nursing assistant.Ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships through the use of tactful, direct and sensitive interaction. Must be able to communicate verbally in a positive and professional manner.Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish this job.Must be able all local health regulations, and pass post-employment physical exam if required.
