SMTS Systems Design Engineer

Job Responsibilities Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing. Design complete and complex frameworks, systems or products, define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility. Conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes, identify, analyze and resolve system design weaknesses, and influence the shaping of future products. Provide multi‑layered technical expertise for next‑generation initiatives and evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high‑level designs to synthesis, place and route, timing and power use. Work on moderate‑scope problems requiring analysis of various factors, and drive projects or processes of significant technical importance. Exercise independent judgment within defined company procedures to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Apply knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as design techniques, tools and principles. Travel NO travel required. Qualifications Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field. Four (4) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) and six (6) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role. Required Skills Data plane and control plane architectures in networking devices Working with packet forwarding mechanisms using OpenVSwitch, DPDK Security protocols such as IPSec, TLS Offload with accelerators or smart NICs or P4 Virtualization or container environment and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes Linux system programming
