The Material Handler works on a first-shift schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, operating a swing-reach forklift to organize, maintain, and replenish inventory. This role also supports order picking, shipping, and receiving as needed, and helps keep a machine saw running through basic operation and monitoring tasks. The position involves working at heights of approximately 2530 feet and handling a wide variety of products in a clean, well-organized warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a swing-reach forklift to move, organize, and replenish inventory throughout the warehouse.
• Assist with order picking to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment of customer orders.
• Support shipping and receiving activities, including loading, unloading, and staging materials.
• Operate and monitor a machine saw to keep it running efficiently, performing minimal operational maintenance as trained.
• Use RF scanners to track inventory, confirm picks, and maintain accurate records of materials.
• Handle a wide variety of products in a low-volume, high-product-mix environment with many product variations.
• Maintain strong attention to detail when working with products that may differ only slightly and are customized for individual customers.
• Follow established safety procedures, particularly when working at heights of approximately 2530 feet on the swing-reach lift.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe, contributing to the overall cleanliness of the facility.
• Collaborate with team members across departments in a growing warehouse environment to support smooth operations.

Essential Skills

• Proven forklift operation experience, ideally with swing-reach, reach truck, or cherry picker equipment.
• Comfort working at heights of approximately 2530 feet on a swing-reach lift.
• Material handling experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Ability to use RF scanners for picking, inventory tracking, and verification.
• Strong attention to detail when handling a high product mix with many variations.
• Reliability and consistent work history without frequent unexplained job changes.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and operate equipment in a safe and controlled manner.
• Willingness to learn basic operation and monitoring of a machine saw.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with reach trucks or other specialized forklifts is highly beneficial.
• Prior work in environments with low volume but high product mix is an advantage.
• Comfort working with custom products that may have 300400 variations.
• Ability to adapt to changing tasks during the day, such as switching between material handling, picking, and shipping support.
• Strong organizational skills to help maintain an orderly warehouse layout.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean, well-conditioned warehouse and production environment with clearly separated departments and ample space to work. The operation focuses on low volume and high product mix, with many custom product variations, requiring careful handling and attention to detail. Team members generally remain relatively clean throughout the shift and are required to wear gloves during certain tasks to prevent oils and adhesives from getting on their hands. Work is performed on first shift, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, using equipment such as swing-reach forklifts, reach trucks, RF scanners, and a machine saw, and may involve working at heights of approximately 2530 feet.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shakopee, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
