Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift, 3x12 hours.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality nursing care by ensuring the nursing care plan is adhered to. The RN provides supervision to Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to form an individualized care plan.
• Identify patient/family teaching needs and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for goal setting.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation on assigned units and ensure effective direct patient care through the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and provide early patient education regarding discharge.
• Communicate pertinent patient status changes to support continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, utilizing problem-solving techniques.
• Ensure safety compliance in accordance with hospital and nursing policies.
• Contribute to a positive work environment and participate in team-building activities.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested following the initial orientation period.
• Engage in professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
• Experience in PCU or step-down units is required.
• Experience with ventilators and critical drips is required.
