General Purpose The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets all Customers with a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows all company best‑practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may be requested to perform additional tasks to support customer service and operational goals. Essential Functions Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do. Maintains high awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment, keeps egress clear, and reports unsafe conditions. Treats all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy, greets them with eye contact, a smile, and a friendly greeting, and says “thank you” at every transaction. Assists Customers with merchandise, answers questions, and handles Customer Service calls promptly and courteously. Represents and supports the Company brand at all times. Performs cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, and replenishing restroom supplies to maintain a clean store environment. Performs daily assigned sizing and recovery per company best practice to keep the store neat, clean, and efficiently merchandised. Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandises all items per presentation guidelines, and maintains brand familiarity within departments. Understands the Loss Prevention Awareness program, the Shortage Highway, the Store Protection Specialist (SPS) position (where applicable), and merchandise protection standards. Demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions; safeguards confidential information, cash, and credit card information. Follows all Mark‑Out‑of‑Stock (MOS) policies and notifies Store Leadership for disposal approval. Handles cash, check, charge card, and refund transactions accurately and follows all related policies. Demonstrates a sense of urgency, maximizes productivity, and minimizes unnecessary steps in workflow. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments. Physical Requirements / ADA Use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC as required. Stand, walk, and move around the Store for up to 100% of working time. Bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly. Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds. Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies. Certain assignments may require additional qualifications and skills. Stockroom shifts: push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds regularly. The base pay range for this role is $20.77 – $21.27 per hour. The base pay depends on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location.
