Diesel Shop Mechanic

CalPortland, a leader in the building materials industry since 1891, is looking for a dedicated Diesel Mechanic to join our fleet maintenance team. This role focuses primarily on maintaining and repairing diesel engines that power our diverse range of construction vehicles and equipment. As a part of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of our transport and logistics operations, helping us uphold our commitment to sustainability and excellence in the construction industry. Perform routine diagnostic checks on diesel engines and interpret diagnostic reports to make necessary repairs or adjustments. Maintain, repair, and overhaul diesel engines and related components to ensure maximum equipment availability and reliability. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures during repair work to ensure a safe working environment. Collaborate with the logistics team to schedule maintenance and minimize equipment downtime. Keep detailed records of services performed and parts used for compliance and budget purposes. Stay updated with the latest technologies and techniques in diesel engine maintenance to enhance service quality and efficiency. Strong knowledge of diesel engine components and systems. Proficiency in using diagnostic testing equipment to troubleshoot and fix issues. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to applying safety standards and procedures. ASE Diesel Certification is highly desirable.
