Position Description

Position Summary: The Pipe Layer's job involves laying, connecting and sealing pipes for various infrastructure projects, including water and sewer systems. They work with various tools and equipment, including trenching and earthmoving machines. They follow blueprints and instructions to ensure pipes are properly installed and connected.

Duties Include But Are Not Limited To:

• Measuring and marking out pipe routes based on blueprints and specifications.
• Using hand and machine trenching tools to prepare trenches for pipes
• Positioning and aligning pipes in trenches, ensuring proper spacing and alignment
• Connecting pipe sections using various methods to create a functional system
• Sealing joints to prevent leaks and ensure the integrity of the system
• Covering pipes with earth or other materials to ensure proper protection
• Adhering to safety regulations and practices to ensure a safe working environment

Position Requirements

• Ability to listen to, understand, and follow directions.
• Ability to remain flexible as specific assignments and job sites change.
• Ability to work with a variety of personalities.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic as needed to count and take inventory.
