Job Summary Mechanic, Maintenance – Silverdale, Washington (Bangor) Non-Exempt, Full-time. Compensation: $43.11-$43.11/hr. The Maintenance Inspector will schedule and conduct inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems at Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor, ensuring maintenance needs are identified early and safety standards are upheld. Responsibilities Performs general maintenance of facilities, including carpentry, mechanical, and plumbing work. Inspects mechanical systems and machinery to ensure proper operation by performing required maintenance, adjustments, or repairs. Operates trucks, tractors with attachments, loaders, forklifts, and riding mowers. Uses and installs chain hoists or any other lifting device required for rigging equipment and hardware into position. Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains mechanical systems, apparatus, and appliances using hand tools or power tools. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 0-3 years of experience in Facility Maintenance or a closely related field. Ability to work independently and safely in a fast-paced environment. Strong teamwork and communication skills with a courteous and helpful manner. Capability to perform manual labor for extended periods in various environments, including adverse weather and high places. Physical Requirements Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Perform repetitive motions, reaching, kneeling, walking, and climbing for several hours at a time. Stand or sit for extended periods, climb in and out of vehicles, and move up and down stairs. Additional Requirements A valid state driver’s license is required; ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance. Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or an acceptable alternative such as a U.S. passport or military ID. Must obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
